This week I was honored to be interviewed in a Google Hangout, about family travel, by Webjet. We discussed what we felt were the four main things to think about when travelling with family. You can follow Webjet on twitter @Webjet_US.
Watch out Netflix, there’s a new online video subscription service coming to Canada very soon. The new service, called Kidoodle TV, will focus on delivering entertainment and educational programs for children 10 and under. I can’t wait to test drive this program. I’m sure as parents many of you have had times where your child chose a not so child friendly video on Netflix or YouTube by accident. Kidoodle will make life easier for parents by offering only safe, age-appropriate content.

It’s no secret that our family loves to travel, but, we have discovered that you don’t need to go far to feel the excitement of travelling. You can get that feeling from a short trip or even just going to the airport to pick someone else up. We love airports about as much as we love flying somewhere. We also love taking a stay-cation, where we can get away to a nice hotel and relax without going far from home. This made me think…what if we put the two together and went on a stay-cation to an airport hotel? Sound good? How about the newest airport hotel in Halifax! We decided to stay a night at the new ALT Hotel Halifax Stanfield, at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, just for fun.
My family and I visited the new LEGOLAND® Discovery Center Toronto in Vaughan Mills, Ontario, on our recent road trip to Toronto. Our two children, ages 9 and 11, had never been to a LEGOLAND before and our family loves LEGO! We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed LEGOLAND Discovery Center.
We just returned from an amazing trip to Ontario and one of our favourite parts of the trip was our visit to Niagara Falls. I hadn’t been to Niagara Falls since I was a child, and it was my children’s first time. We were so amazed! The beauty of the Falls is unbelievable! We started out at the Table Rock Welcome Centre, where we could park for the day.
Welcome to the Great Canadian Blog Bash! I’m so proud to be Canadian! My name is Laura and My Life in the Sun is a personal blog I started last year to share our family’s experiences during our everyday life and traveling. This is my first year in the Great Canadian Blog Bash because it’s my first year as a blogger. I have two daughters and a very patient husband who, like me, love to travel. I am born and raised in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada and have driven across the country twice. I think one of the best ways to see Canada is by car! There is much more to a country than just the big cities. There are so many amazing small boutiques, manufacturers, farms, and restaurants in small towns that you would never get to see, if you didn’t get out on the road.
My girls and I got a great idea from my cousin to make a Summer Fun List (a bucket list but I didn’t really want to call it that) of things to do this summer. Have you ever done this? We have had ideas before, but never made a checklist that we can follow, over the summer and hopefully finish. There are some big items on the list this summer, since we’re headed to Toronto in 3 days! We’re pretty excited. What do you think? What would be on your list?
I will be participating in the Great Canadian Blog Bash for the first time from June 27th to July 11th. Since this is my first year of blogging I’m very proud to join many other amazing Canadian Bloggers in this event. There are more than 100 bloggers signed up so far!
I am looking for Canadian companies who would like to sponsor a prize with a value of $25 or more (gift certificates are welcome) for a giveaway for this event! The Great Canadian Blog Bash is a Celebration of Canada by bloggers all accross Canada through blog posts, photos, giveaways and more.
