Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness
We just wrapped up Alzheimer’s Awareness Month in Canada. This meant that I was hearing more about the disease than usual. I think about Alzheimer’s on a regular basis because my mother has Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease. She was diagnosed a few years ago and I have thought about her and it every day since. During this month the New Brunswick Alzheimer’s Society was posting some fantastic information about the disease on Facebook.
Wild Florida Airboats and Wildlife Park (Giveaway)
We visited Wild Florida on our recent vacation to Orlando, Florida. Even though we thought our day was going to be ruined by an afternoon rain storm, it passed just as we turned into the Wild Florida parking lot!
Paradise is at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort
We just returned from a wonderful holiday to Florida, during Christmas. We stayed at many hotels, but none was as relaxing and beautiful as the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort. Holiday Inn Club Vacations have resorts in many areas of the United States and they are all unique but the Orange Lake Resort is where it all began.
Our Annual Gingerbread Competition!
We love competing in our annual family gingerbread house competition. When we started most of us were just using the store-bought house building kits but since then things have gotten a little out of hand. Last year’s winner was the Titanic!
After last year we knew we had to step up our game if we were going to win. My children came up with the idea to build the Eiffel Tower. It looked amazing!
The Christmas Cookie Exchange (Cherry Cake Cookie recipe included)
Today my daughters and I baked all day for a cookie exchange. We made 12 dozen cherry cake cookies, a recipe passed down to me from my mother. I can remember helping her at a young age and we’ve made them every Christmas since.
This recipe is very easy and perfect if you have children helping. You can make it from ingredients you already have in the house, except for the icing and cherries.
