We visited Wild Florida on our recent vacation to Orlando, Florida. Even though we thought our day was going to be ruined by an afternoon rain storm, it passed just as we turned into the Wild Florida parking lot!
We arrived early for our Airboat Tour so we could walk around the Wildlife Park. There were some really neat animals we had never seen before such as the Watusi!
There are also Zebras, Water Buffalo, Emu, Birds, and of course Alligators in the Wildlife Park! It’s beautifully manicured and looks as nice as any zoo I’ve seen with informative signs all around.
The Hawk Swamp was a big hit with the kids. Wooden pathways extend into a Cypress Swamp where you can see Hawks, Frogs, Racoons, and Snakes. If you’ve never seen a Cypress Swamp before, they are very unique with roots sticking up out of the ground.
The Airboat Tour took us on an adventurous ride accross the wetlands. We were lucky to go at Sunset and the views were spectactular.
The Airboat Ride was fast and the Captain made sure we had a great time. It was well worth the short drive from Orlando to get there. We can’t wait to return for another visit.

I SO want to go to on an airboat ride before we retire from the Air Force in less than two years and move back to WA!!
Visited last March and was overwhelmed by the fabulous airboat ride and knowledge of the area from the Captain. Learned so much about the flora/fauna of this area. Definitely will be returning to walk through the zoo area and take another terrific airboat ride.
The hawk swamp would be great for my kids!
