I have loved making art for as long as I can remember. Sometimes I forget how much I love it and don’t make it a priority, but during my visit to Hue Design Studio I remembered and had so much fun creating something new!
Hue Design Studio is an interior decorating boutique located in the beautiful Hydrostone Market area of Halifax. They carry an incredible assortment of gorgeous decorating supplies including the amazing Fat Paint we used on our boards. Fat Paint is chalk style paint, which is made in Canada! It’s perfect for distressing, stencilling and up cycling projects. I used three colours in my design: Elefante, Red Barchetta and Cream.
I really loved how smooth it went on. Every other paint I’ve used for painting on wood was too thin and left a grainy feel on the board. Fat paint really is fat. I also used their Fat Wax Beeswax Polish as a sealer. It was awesome! It was so easy to rub or paint on and made the colours on my board really stand out. I can’t wait to use Fat Paint again for a bigger furniture project!
Michelle was a wonderful host for our workshop and told us a lot of tips and tricks for making our pieces look professional.
Hue Design Studio also carries a fantastic assortment of Farrow and Ball Paint, gorgeous wallpapers patterns, fabrics and even unique cabinet knobs. I love these bright wallpaper designs!
Michele has some fabulous workshops coming up soon if you want to try out Fat Paint yourself!
I had a lot of fun with these fellow writers. Check out their blogs too!
