It’s here folks! You can now test drive the new online television programming site for kids, Kidoodle TV, for free! Kidoodle focuses on delivering entertainment and educational programs for children 10 and under. We have been testing it out for the last week and our children love how easy it is to use. The programs are limited during the trial and there is more for younger children than older children but it’s worth trying out to give them feedback so they can improve. I love that there is an option to limit the amount of time your children can watch!

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time since I’ve done a personal post. I love communicating with all of you and sharing my personal life experiences. Today I want to share with you my decision to make a big change in my life.

My health has always been important to me. I come from a pretty active family. I grew up playing hockey, skiing every winter, skating, swimming and sailing. You name it and I probably tried it.

I loved to go to the gym in high school as well, and then it all drifted off when I went to university. For some reason other things kept getting in the way of exercise. I didn’t join any sports teams and then I met my husband, got married, and started having children. These were all wonderful moments in my life, but my health took a back page to everything else going on. Read More →

We decided to go to Fredericton, NB for our last road trip of the summer, because, it’s so close to home, but somewhere we’ve never really explored. I knew, when I started planning the trip, that I wanted to go to the Boyce Farmers Market on Saturday morning, but I never dreamed that we would have our days filled to the brim full of fun things to do.

I am so grateful for all the help Stacey, from Tourism Fredericton, gave me in planning our weekend. She gave me a huge list of activities our family might enjoy doing, while we were in Fredericton, and helped me plan our two days, after I chose the activities I knew we would like best. I knew I was choosing a lot but with Stacey’s help we fit it all in perfectly!

When we got close to Fredericton, we took an early exit off the highway from Moncton, onto Route 105 to see the St John River up close. It was a perfect choice because we were able to see the river during twilight and it was gorgeous! We also stopped at Moxon’s Country Pumpkin for some ice cream and to see the animals in the petting zoo.

We have never stayed in Fredericton before, even though I am originally from Saint John, and we love the area. When we looked for a hotel in Fredericton for our final road trip of the summer, we wanted a really nice hotel. The Delta Fredericton has a lot to offer. I hadn’t stayed at a Delta in many years as well, so I was really looking forward to this hotel. We had no trouble finding the hotel from downtown with our GPS. It is located a few minutes past downtown Fredericton on the St John River. The first thing we noticed is how beautiful the hotel and grounds are. The lobby is just as stunning with high ceilings and a lot of natural light. All around, you can see how bright, modern and clean the hotel is.

Family game nights are awesome. Mattel Game On wants to bring back family game night and has launched some fantastic ways you can start celebrate family game night even if you have never played a game before! Anyone can play games. They are so much fun and there is a game for everyone.

Mattel Game On asked me to try out their new Gameology App on Facebook to see what type of games I liked and to host a game night with our family. I absolutely love family game night so I couldn’t wait to start planning. I started by trying the Gameology app on Facebook and my profile was Wittian:

Wittians are cunning players who enjoy the psychology of gameplay. Outsmarting their opponents is just as rewarding to them as outplaying them. They are wary of luck and prefer to make their own using skill and guile. Wittians are generally trustworthy friends, but it should be remembered that at the end of the day, nothing will stop them from sacrificing you if it gets them a win.

Now that my children are getting bigger, they are heading into the dreaded tween stage. Is it really that horrible? Probably not, but finding clothes for them is getting harder and harder. There aren’t that many places to find good quality, comfortable, clothes for tween girls, especially in Atlantic Canada. My girls have grown out of most of the kids stores, and the adult stores are either inappropriate, or boring! I was dreading back to school shopping, until I heard about Triple Flip from Calgary, Alberta.

The original Triple Flip girls, Linda Maslechko and Mona Rae Peterson, along with their daughters and friends started Triple Flip for just those reasons I mentioned above. “There simply were not enough choices or great places for girls to shop. There needed to be a place to find clothes that actually fit. Clothes that came in fun colors and looked fabulous. Clothes that were so incredibly comfortable that you could dance in them, run in them, sleep in them, or flip in them.” I think these ladies have exceeded their goal. The clothes at Triple Flip are colourful, fun, fit wonderfully and are excellent quality.

It’s amazing to me that it has already been a year since I created my blog and published my first post ever online: Hello World!

I have learned so much during the last year and met so many amazing people online! I really didn’t have any goals when I started blogging, other than to find a way to share my ideas and experiences, with friends and family. I had no idea how big the world of blogging really was, or that I would love it so much!

Watch out Netflix, there’s a new online video subscription service coming to Canada very soon. The new service, called Kidoodle TV, will focus on delivering entertainment and educational programs for children 10 and under. I can’t wait to test drive this program. I’m sure as parents many of you have had times where your child chose a not so child friendly video on Netflix or YouTube by accident. Kidoodle will make life easier for parents by offering only safe, age-appropriate content.
