We arrived at the Georgian Court Hotel in Vancouver at night. It’s so nice to arrive at a hotel, and feel comfortable and at home right away, especially at night, when all you want to do is rest. When we opened the door, to our room, the first thing we saw was the brightly lit BC Place, through the window. I love that the housekeeper thought to keep the curtains open, so an amazing view would be the first thing we saw.
We were also welcomed with a local bottle of wine and fine chocolates. We immediately put on the hotel bathrobes and had a glass of wine. Relaxation achieved after a long drive!
The Georgian Court is located in Downtown Vancouver, close to Chinatown, BC Place and the Skytrain. We were only a Aquabus ride away from the Telus Science Center and Granville Island, and a short ride on the Skytrain to Canada Place. We thought it was the perfect location! We took both the Skytrain and Aquabus during our stay and they were very easy to use and took us to the attractions quickly.
Our room was a standard size with two double beds, and furnished with nice wooden furniture. The mattresses and linens were new and, while the linens were very comfortable, I found the bed a little hard. The room was very clean and this is the most important thing to me in a hotel room!
The next most important thing is the amenities! The Georgian Court is a four star, boutique, hotel and the amenities definitely reflect this. All of the regular amenities such as coffee and shampoo were supplied but so were some fun extras: bath salts, tampons, nylons, slippers, a yoga mat, hairspray and nightly turn-down service! The bathroom soaps were Aveda, my favourite, and the housekeeper left extras each day so my daughter’s would have their own. Now that’s service!
The Georgian Court Hotel has a wonderful little whirlpool (hot enough to be also called a hot tub), a steam room and an exercise room. The whirlpool area was nice and private and my girls were happy to be able to use it for their ice bucket challenge!
Other important amenities are a shuttle service, business centre, underground parking and Frankie’s Italian Kitchen Restaurant. We didn’t get a chance to use any of these amenities during our stay.
If we return to Vancouver, I would stay at the Georgian Court again.
I received a discounted room rate in exchange for my review, however all opinions in this article are my own.
