It’s that time of year again and we all know how much work it is getting our children ready, to go back to school. On average, parents end up spending $428 per child on back to school items. (Source) Everything adds up quickly! So why not earn something back in the process!
I have been an RBC customer for many years now and have taken advantage of the RBC Rewards program using my visa, but I had no idea that you could also use their eMall for online shopping to earn up to 12x the points! I’m a big fan of rewards programs that pay off and I have received some great benefits, like gift cards, from the RBC Rewards I have earned, by only using the credit card. So, I decided to check this out!
First I watched all of the HOW-TO-VIDEOS on the RBC Rewards website to make sure I knew what I was doing. I didn’t want to miss out on any points offers! The videos really helped me to learn how to use the RBC Rewards website.
Then I put my new-found knowledge into action. I checked out the eMall to see what stores I might have already been planning to shop at for back to school. Most of my favourites where there including Future Shop, Walmart, Indigo, Old Navy, and Sport Check! There are more than 250 stores that you can shop at through the eMall and a lot of them have free shipping.
I learned that you can save your favourites to the myFavourites tab so you don’t have to search for them every time you log in. Once you decide you want to start shopping online you simply click on a store, then click on “shop online” and it takes you to their website where you shop as you usually would.
One of the neatest things you can do on the RBC Rewards website, is to go to the Future Shop or Best Buy Tab. Here you can shop using your RBC points or a combination of points and your credit card.
What a great way to save on back to school electronics!
Thanks to RBC Rewards you can also win a $25 gift card now in a flash giveaway. It ends on September 1st so enter quick below!
Disclosure: I am part of the RBC Rewards Back to School Blogger Campaign with Mom Central Canada and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.

Oooh! I love a flash giveaway! The Indigo gift card would be wonderful; would be so nice to treat myself to one of the books I’ve got on my Christmas list.
