I think most of us in Canada are beyond ready for Spring to arrive!
We’re cold, sad from a lack of sun & vitamin D, tired of wearing so many layers and our skin is SO DRY!
PLUS, (shh don’t tell anyone), I haven’t shaved in MONTHS! Who’s with me? It’s too easy to let yourself go over the cold, dark winter! I’ll admit it…my legs were getting gross. I NEEDED AN INTERVENTION. Thank goodness my friend Colleen booked us a day at the spa for facials, wine, pedicures and a leg wax for me!
We’ve been talking a LOT about #BeautyAndBalance lately in our blogging group (just like EVERYONE is online). We had a fun workshop at Mudwraps to Manicures a couple of weeks ago where we learned how to breathe deep and relax from Anna Townsend Fit, got mini facials and were treated to goodies from Fid Kitchen while wearing the most comfy pj’s from Take It Outside!
WE EVEN DROVE HOME IN OUR PJ’S!
It was an incredible night and I came away with the feeling of being so incredibly relaxed and renewed. I’m one of those people that gets so stressed I COMPLETELY FORGET TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF. Every time I go to the spa it’s like a wake up call to start taking care of my body and mind again!
BACK TO THIS SPA VISIT…I was so excited when I got there and saw Colleen that I started jumping up and down in the spa lobby. I quickly found out that I was going to get my legs waxed first so that I could relax and enjoy the other treatments.
I was NERVOUS! Can you believe that I’d NEVER HAD MY LEGS WAXED BEFORE? Some of you might think that’s outrageous! I’ve honestly been SCARED my whole life (since I was a teenager) to get waxed. I’m sure that like me some of you tried those at home waxing kits?!? Well I tried one when I was a teenager and by gosh it hurt and the wax went everywhere!! I was so scared that this would be the same thing only worse because my legs were SO HAIRY!
Thank goodness (as usual) my fears were unfounded. In fact I LOVED IT!! So much so that I’m pretty sure it’s going to become a regular treatment for me because it felt so amazing to be smooth and moisturized.
SUDDENLY IT FELT LIKE SPRING TO ME. And next I was getting my toes done! I jumped up into the pedicure chair and chatted with Colleen while drinking wine. What fun! I chose to get my toes painted purple because it’s my absolute favourite colour lately.
Next we were taken in to another room with beds. Oh my gosh I almost forgot. When we first arrived they had be change into a dress-like coverup and a bath robe. I started to feel pampered right at that very moment!
We proceeded to be treated over and over again with the most luxurious cleansers, toners, masques, peel off treatments, steam and creams that I’ve ever felt. The whole time our faces were being treated we were covered in blankets and our hands were getting moisturized in bags inside heated pockets.
IT FELT SO AMAZING I ALMOST FELL ASLEEP!!
Finally at the end of the night I spotted the perfect shoes on the wall that I knew would be my new spring shoes and look fabulous on me during our trip to Paris this spring. (Mudwraps also has an incredible shoe, jewelry and makeup shop.) Since they were 50% off I grabbed them! They’re Kate Spade & I LOVE THEM.
Now I feel totally ready to embrace spring…once it arrives! And I had a fantastic time sharing the experience with my friend Colleen.
