We just returned from a wonderful holiday to Florida, during Christmas. We stayed at many hotels, but none was as relaxing and beautiful as the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort. Holiday Inn Club Vacations have resorts in many areas of the United States and they are all unique but the Orange Lake Resort is where it all began.

With seven pools including a 1200 foot lazy river, water slides, 9 restaurants, 3 arcades, 2 mini golf courses, a kid’s activity centre, 54 holes of golf, shopping and a lake there is truly something for everyone in the family.

We arrived late in the afternoon and since we were tired we didn’t want to go far for dinner. It was fantastic that we could order pizza delivery to our room, so we could start relaxing right away!

We stayed in a two bedroom luxury villa, which we were all very impressed with. It was huge! We had our own kitchen, laundry and our children had their own bedroom and bathroom. We couldn’t ask for more. There was also a screened in deck with beautiful views of one of the golf courses.

The next morning we were eager and up early; ready to explore the resort. On our way to breakfast we were lucky enough to find the breathtaking pool area and grounds surrounding it almost empty. The steam was rising off the pool and we captured some great photos. We couldn’t wait to jump in and drift down the lazy river.

We had breakfast in the River Island Grilling Company Restaurant where Swampy the alligator showed up and we were given balloon animals. All of the staff at the Orange Lake Resort were amazing.

We spent most of the day at the pool. Our children loved the water slides and we all loved the lazy river. There were so many pool chairs and the whole area was so big we had no trouble finding a spot to call our own for the afternoon. It did take us a while to find out where to get our pool towels and tubes but once we did we were set for the day. Once you have your bracelet on you can come and go as you please from the lazy river. It’s very easy. We enjoyed a quick lunch at Anchors located right off the pool area, so we didn’t even have to go back to the room to change.

We also played mini golf in the evening on one of the well lit courses and had some fun in the Arcade.

There were scheduled activities on the go all the time at the Orange Lake Resort for all ages. In the afternoon we made tie dyed t-shirts. Didn’t they turn out great?

Our whole family agreed it was the best resort we had ever been to.

We found the Orange Lake Resort to be very convenient for all of the local theme parks and other entertainment in the Orlando area. If all of the Holiday Inn Club Vacations Resorts are as welcoming and beautiful as the Orange Lake Resort they will be our number one choice for accommodations in the future wherever we travel.
