Whether on the road, or at home, there is nothing more heart warming than hosting a get together with family and friends during the holidays!

Holiday Entertaining with the #PCInsidersCollection

Before we left on our big road trip, I put together a stunning charcuterie board to share with family, who were dropping in to say goodbye, with some of the most delicious treats President’s Choice has in their #PCInsidersCollection this holiday season.

Holiday Entertaining Charcuterie Board

Everyone LOVES a charcuterie board during a party. It’s so easy to throw together, looks amazing and there’s always something on it for everyone. The highlight of course was the PC® Splendido®Antipasto Misto.

These specialty salami, copper di parma and prosciutto from Italy were a huge hit and disappeared first from the spread. My husband made little sandwiches out of them and the PC® Aged 5 Years Canadian Cheddar Cheese even though you’re really not supposed to do that with a charcuterie board! I’m not normally a fan of aged cheese but I really liked the aged cheddar and it went perfect with the salty meat.

You could also add PC® Double Smoked Oak-Smoked Long-Sliced Scottish Atlantic Salmon to your board. It’s sure to be a hit! I topped off our board with some local fruit, President’ Choice yoghurt covered cranberries, dark chocolate, fresh French bread and crackers. You could also add nuts, soft cheeses, and jams or dips for the meats or salmon.

My daughters really loved the PC® Pomegranate Arils which we also added to our board. We’ve loved pomegranates for a long time but this package makes them really easy to eat without the huge red stained finger mess we normally get when peeling them. We ate them straight out of the package they were so good. I wouldn’t actually recommend putting them on your board, because, even though they are beautiful and add colour to your display, they are a little wet and would go much better in a fancy drink like this recipe from President’s Choice:

Sparkling Pomegranate Citrus Brunch Punch

Pomegranate Berry Punch

Serves: 10

Ready In: 5 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

We’ve kept this bubbly punch alcohol-free, but you can easily add sparkling wine for a boozy version by swapping out one of the bottles of Italian soda for a 750-mL bottle of sparkling wine.

Ingredients

4 cups (1 L) ice cubes
1 bottle (750 mL) PC Sicilian Lemon Italian Soda
1 bottle (750 mL) PC Blood Orange Italian Soda
2 cans (250 mL each) PC Pomegranate Cranberry 100% Sparkling Fruit Juice
1/2 cup (125 mL) frozen PC Pomegranate Arils
Half orange, thinly sliced into rounds
Fresh mint, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place ice in 3-L (12 cup) pitcher. Add lemon soda, orange soda, juice and frozen pomegranate arils; stir to combine.
  2. Add orange slices and mint.

This drink would be perfect for entertaining along with your charcuterie board and some other the other appetizers President’s Choice has in their #PCInsidersCollection this season. I would choose the PC® Mini Chicken Empanadas and PC® Dry-Rubbed Hardwood-Smoked Chicken Wings if I were having a holiday party this year!

Do you have big plans for mingling with friends during the holidays? Since we’re now on the road in our Airstream travelling across America, we’re hosting small gatherings as we visit family and friends.
