Disney is a huge company and there are multitudes of websites, blogs and pages which showcase The World of Disney. Below I have shared my own favourite websites to visit, which have helped us plan our visits to Disney World in Florida. Some of the reasons we love Disney World in Florida is the location, ease of travel to and from our home city (only three hours on a direct flight), the cleanliness of the park, and how relaxed and comfortable it makes us feel when we are there. We also love exploring the rest of Florida when we’re not at Disney so it makes for a nice well-rounded and reasonably affordable vacation.
While it is expensive to stay on Disney property we find that if you watch for special offers and take advantage of them it can end up being worth every penny to stay on site. It’s more relaxing, fewer driving/parking fees, better service and just plain fun to be immersed in the magic 24/7!

Our Top 5 Hotel Choices on Disney Property
Fort Wilderness Campground and Cabins – cabins are great for families of 4-7 people – take a boat to Magic Kingdom – moderate resort
Port Orleans Resort – Riverside – newly renovated with Princess Tiana rooms – moderate resort but lower priced than others – a great deal with free dining because the cost of your room is less but you’re still getting a full dining package free
Art of Animation Resort – new – cheaper than moderate resorts if you don’t choose a family suite – value resort
Wilderness Lodge – this place is stunning – moderate resort – take a boat to magic kingdom – not on monorail
Beach Club Resort – you get a beach! – close to Epcot – moderate
A few of our favourite restaurants
*Be careful at the Magic Kingdom at Breakfast time – the only restaurant open for breakfast in the MK is the Crystal Palace and it’s a character meal. If you don’t plan to eat before you go you can get caught paying for something you don’t need!
Cinderella’s Royal Table – a very special meal – expensive – many princesses will stop by your table for autographs and photos – worth every penny at least once in a little girl’s life (see photo of my princess – just look at her face!) We usually use 2 free dining credits to book this restaurant.
50’s Prime Time Cafe in Hollywood Studios – The food here is just like you’re mom made. Fried Chicken and Meatloaf! It’s 50’s decor. The waiters are hilarious. You play with hoola hoops while you wait for your table to be ready.
The Whispering Wind Cafe – Wilderness Lodge – Very big servings of BBQ meat and the best corn bread ever. And you have to yell Ketchup to get your ketchup from other tables. Fun for kids.
‘Ohana – Polynesian Resort – We love having the character breakfast brunch here. You get to see Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stich usually, the food is very good and the atmosphere is quieter/more relaxing than some of the other large character breakfast spots.
