Have you ever stayed at a resort where you could roam along the beach and feed bunnies out of your hand at the same time? That’s exactly what you can do at White Point Beach Resort on the Southern Shore of Nova Scotia!
It’s hard to believe that bunnies could live on a beach resort, but as soon as you arrive you start seeing them popping up around the lodge and cabins. Even our teen daughters were enthralled at the sight of all the bunnies hopping around and eating out of their hands. You can see what I mean in Grace’s video! The baby bunnies are the cutest!
Located within the UNESCO Southwest Nova Biosphere Reserve, White Point is surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches, ocean views, hiking trails and nearby fishing villages to explore. The resort is 89 years old and has an incredible history.
The resort has many options for accommodation but we were extremely lucky to get a two bedroom cabin right on the beach.
It was beautiful and the perfect size for our family of four. Our daughter’s loved having their own private room to themselves.
The fireplace was all set up for us when we arrived (no need to worry about your fire starting skills here!) and the wood box filled up to last us all night long. (The cabin was heated – we just love having a fire going! It’s very relaxing and romantic!)
We had the buffet dinner in the lounge, after chasing bunnies and unpacking in the cabin. The buffet included many options including cheese, mussels, beef, chicken and an extensive dessert table.
We watched the sun set and went for a swim in the heated indoor pool as well as a dip in the hot tub. A night at White Point wouldn’t be complete without playing a few games of shuffleboard in the game room and checking out the marshmallow roasting fire.
We borrowed the movie Castaway with Tom Hanks and settled in to our cabin for the night.
Luckily we didn’t sleep in because the sun rise on the beach was incredible. It’s worth getting up early to see it at least once during your stay at White Point!
We had a lovely breakfast in the dining room including fresh maple syrup for the maple french toast, eggs, cheese and made to order omelettes.
We can’t wait to come back to White Point Beach Resort in the summer to try out the shuffleboard and tennis courts, take out a paddle board or canoe and do some surfing and hiking! There are always many activities on the go at White Point including performances in the lounge, art classes, and they have a lovely selection of local art and gifts in their gift shop to take home with you.
Not far from White Point is Ross Farm Museum, which is a living farm museum where you can see animals and working historic homes. It’s an excellent attraction for families. We had stopped at Ross Farm Museum on the way to White Point for their maple sugar weekend and learned how it was made!
