If you’re looking for an amazing family resort in Orlando close to Walt Disney World you can’t go wrong with the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort.
The resort has huge family suites with full kitchens and washing machines, scheduled activities for children daily, huge gorgeous pool areas, is very affordable and is located REALLY close to one of the entrances to Walt Disney World.
We first stayed at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort in January of 2013. We immediately fell in love with the gorgeous resort and wrote a review of it HERE. It’s been a couple of years but I was still completely blown away by the resort this time around.
When we arrived at the resort it felt like we were coming home.
It doesn’t look like a hotel! It looks like town homes and apartments, but you get the benefits of a hotel including pizza delivery! That restaurant came in handy when we didn’t feel like cooking but needed an early supper before heading into Walt Disney World for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! The pizza arrived at the room hot & delicious!
I am always amazed at how huge the Holiday Inn Club Vacation resort suites are and at such an affordable price!
The suite we stayed in had two bedrooms and two bathrooms and could sleep up to 8 people! Now that our children are teenagers, my husband and I are extremely grateful for the extra space and second washroom. It means we get to have privacy even on a family vacation!
One of the best things about these units is the full kitchen. They even provide a blender for smoothie loving people! It honestly feels like having a second home for a fraction of the price of ownership.
The pool areas are amazing with twisting water slides, a lazy river, arcades, a huge blow up slide, shops, restaurants and even a lake with boats to rent. The resort provides a kids club and has scheduled activities and movies every day. Even the hubby had fun at the arcade!
Our kids were never bored and we all wished we would stay longer.
The best part about the Orange Lake Resort for us on this trip was its proximity to Walt Disney World. We were able to dress up in our costumes for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in the hotel room and take a less than 10 minute drive to the Ticket and Transportation Center where we took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom.
Once we were exhausted at the end of the night it was only a short return trip back “home” to the hotel. If you don’t want to spend the extra money to stay on site at Walt Disney World or have a large family this resort is the best choice we have seen right outside the gates.
If you have any questions about the resort – don’t hesitate to comment below. I love sharing advice about our travels!
Disclosure: We received a free hotel stay for two nights, a dining credit and Fun Zone Passes in order to write this review, however, all opinions are my own.
