I was given the opportunity to test drive a new travel bag on the market this month. The Jumper is the smallest bag from the new company Rise Gear. The bag originally debuted on Dragon’s Den in 2012 and earned the dragon’s approval immediately.
What makes this bag unique is that it has shelves to keep your clothes neat and organized and it has hooks, so it can hang in any closet. How many trips have you been on where your clothing was wrinkled after one day and mixed in with your dirty laundry? The Rise Gear bags have shelves to keep all of your clothing folded and organized, a large catch-all, at the bottom of the bag, for dirty laundry and a shoe holder on the top. They are pretty amazing if you ask me.
My daughters aren’t business people looking to keep their shirts folded neatly but they loved this bag. We found it really convenient for packing all of our clothes, for 3-4 people, for a couple of days. It was perfect for a weekend trip or for using on a longer trip, as the only bag you need to take into the hotel room, for one or two nights. We did this a couple of times on our two-week trip when we were only staying in a hotel long enough to sleep for a night and didn’t need all of our luggage.
The Jumper was the perfect size for carrying on an airplane and storing in the overhead compartment. It was lightweight enough to carry around the airport, but I could see how the next largest bag, the Weekender, could get heavy on the shoulders after a while. You would want to go with the Jumper if you were planning on carrying it around a lot.
The hooks on the Jumper were large enough to hang on the clothes bar of every hotel room closet we tried it in. We even hung it for one night in a teepee in British Columbia! The material the bag is made out of is thin but seems very sturdy so far. Here’s how the Rise and Hang System works:
I would definitely recommend this bag, especially for anyone travelling on business, but also for all you moms who really like to be organized. The Jumper Bag made our life easier on our last few trips and we will be using it every time we travel from now on.
If you’re interested; here is the video of Lee and Sean Renshaw talking about the Rise Gear bags on Dragon’s Den.
I received a Jumper Bag, as compensation, to write this review; however, all opinions are my own.

Thanks for the comment Drew! That’s the neat thing about this bag – the small version is good for going anywhere. It would even be great to take your work clothes to the gym!

I remember this. Really happy they are now available. I will have to get one for my next trip.
Thanks for letting know it is a winner.

Let me know if you would like to test it out first Steve! I would be happy to bring it to you the next time we’re in town.
