I am a quitter. I am a procrastinator. I get bored easily. I hate to exercise.
I love myself. I want to eat healthy. I want to be fit. I want to fully enjoy life.
These are ALL statements I’ve told myself. Life is full of tough days and tough decisions. I have many days where I don’t have the desire to eat healthy and exercise and I have great days where I want to run for miles. The older I get, the more I want to make healthier choices for my mind and body, and I think the more we educate ourselves on what makes our body and mind healthier, the easier it will be to make those healthy choices! I wrote recently about trying a 21 day cleanse by Anna from The Fitness Room and now I want to tell you about an amazing night of TREATS and EXERCISE we had at The Fitness Room.
Anna invited some of our bloggers from ECM Media to her new gym to test out a sampler night of the barre, pilates and spin classes she offers at The Fitness Room. We were also treated to yummy goodies from In The Raw Organics and Viveau sparking mineral water and a talk about chiropractic care by Dr. Justine from Choice Heath Center!
I was really pumped to try all three exercise classes because I HAD NEVER TRIED ANY OF THEM BEFORE!
We started out by doing a 20 minute spin class. I ABSOLUTELY loved it. Spin is so much fun. There’s music, it’s in the dark, you sweat a lot but you can control how hard you do it so anyone can find their comfort zone. I will definitely be back for another spin class!
Then we took a break to try the new Viveau sparkling mineral water drinks. They’re great for recovery after exercise because they have .
We tried blueberry, cherry and apple. The fruit juices come from fruit farms in Nova Scotia and they are DELICIOUS! I liked cherry the best but the apple was amazing too because it tastes like apple cider! You can buy Viveau drinks at Sobey’s!
Next up was a 20 minute barre class. Oh my gosh this was hard! If you really want to tone your legs you need to try this class. We did so many squats my legs were burning. (In a good way of course!!) We also used balls and bands during the class to really focus the strengthening! The class was slow and totally brought out my inner ballerina!
We worked so hard during that barre class it was time for a treat! In The Raw Organics brought us something incredible!!
Peanut butter balls and pecan clusters!!! Guys, these were so, so, so good. Plus they were VEGAN!
In The Raw also makes a lot of other delicious vegan treats like cheesecake and raw fruit chews. They’re all amazing and so much more healthy than store bought snacks.
Then we went back to the mats to try a mini Pilates class (which I loved!) and have a chat with Dr. Justine Landry from Choice Health Centre. We learned about how chiropractic care isn’t always just for those who are in pain or have problems but can be really great as preventative care as well. I’ve had the opportunity to have some chiropractic work done by Dr. Justine since the event and she’s a fantastic chiropractor. Choice Health Centre also has a fantastic sauna that you can book even if you’re not having a treatment. It’s so worth it!! The heat in winter feels amazing and it’s great for detoxing!
