It’s hard to believe we have put three weeks of work into our Airstream already! Time flies when you’re waiting to go on a road trip! During week three we were back in Nova Scotia living with Trevor’s parents full-time and our kids started a new year of school at Shambhala. This wasn’t a week we could get a lot done on the body of the airstream with so much else on the go, so Trevor decided to build our kitchen cabinets in his dad’s garage.
We were really lucky that Trevor’s dad had a lot of scrap wood left over we could use to build our cabinet including some incredible off cuts of different kinds of wood which we used to build a butcher block counter top.
He put so many hours into sanding it and planing it smooth!
Then he used Mixwax Fast-Drying Polyurethane Clear Semi-Gloss Wood Finish to enhance and protect the natural colour of the different woods used in the butcher block counter top.
And now for some huge news! Trevor got a job working as a sound recordist on a movie here in Halifax for a month so we’re pushing our leaving date back until October 15th!
We still have an unbelievable amount of work to do before we leave on our road trip so stay tuned and follow me on Instagram for more pictures!
